Ruth Malan at Bredemeyer is enlisting help from architects and developers to define, design, and deploy (the 3 D’s) a system called HelpMatch, which would be used to create a decentralized system that could match people that wish to provide charitable help for natural and man-made disasters and other calamities. The idea behind the system is to use the internet and a decentralized software system to connect people with resources to give with people in need.
I’ve elected to try and help Ruth, in my own small way, by tuning all of my examples for the HelpMatch system. Instead of using general business cases, I’m trying to select my examples from the HelpMatch problem space. I feel this benefits both HelpMatch and my own writings. Given I post enough to the blog, then there may be some statistical likelihood that something I come up with is remotely useful to HelpMatch. As for my blog posts themselves, it provides an overarching context for all of my examples, and increases the overall coherency of the information I present. Given some of these blog postings aren’t always as coherent as I would like…..
Since I’ve mentioned Ruth and Bredemeyer, I’d like to take the opportunity to give one plug to them. I had the great pleasure of taking one of their Visual Architecting seminars, led by Ruth, and I found it of immense value. The seminar is extremely collegial, so not only did I get the benefit of Ruth’s experience, I gained insights from the experience of my fellow attendees. I’d strongly recommend this course to both aspiring and practicing architects, and would also recommend that Ruth’s blog be regular reading, and that the Bredemeyer site be one of your standard resources.
